You’re Not a Bad Mom

Toddlers am I right? We love them and it can be such a fun age but man they can run you down! I’m currently going through a stage of full-blown meltdowns, tantrums, screams, and little verbal communication.

If this is you then I’m here to just say – I feel ya and you’re doing great. It may not feel like it day in and day out. It may feel like you yelled too much or you let them have too much screen time. Maybe they just completely melted down all day and you don’t even know why.

I’m here to say to you (and especially myself)

that what you did was enough for your babe(s) today. Figuring out a toddler’s brain is practically impossible. They are learning and growing so much. They’re becoming their own little person with a personality which is amazing but whew it’s hard.

My son is at an age where he certainly isn’t a baby anymore but he’s not “toddler” enough to be able to fully communicate with me yet either. We use sign language which helps but it’s not enough to stop a tantrum. Every day he is becoming more independent and every day we have some kind of struggle – big or small.

Now if you read this in hopes of advice and tips, I apol

ogize because I’m fresh out. I guess the whole point to this was to express my “mom brain” thoughts in writing and hope that someone else can resonate with it too.

Mamas your house can be a mess, your kids may have

driven you crazy today, you might’ve gotten more upset than you would have liked. But I can promise you that they still love you. You are their favorite person and as I have been told by those around me, “this is just a phase.” So let’s embrace it, mamas. I am hanging on by a string some days right there with ya, we got this!
